Exclusive Model Program: Cash Rewards and Copyright Support
Earning free filaments and printers on MakerWorld is great. But how about converting those points into cash? And having a professional legal team backing you up?
MakerWorld is one year old, and it has been quite a year, during which we grew from nobody to one of the most popular 3D model sharing communities, thanks to our supportive users and genius creators. We are proud to say that Makerworld offers the most generous financial incentives for creators among all free 3D model sharing platforms.
When we talked with creators on MakerWorld about the features they want, two of the most frequent requests are Cash Incentives and Copyright Support, especially when infringement happens outside of Makerworld.
We're thrilled to introduce MakerWorld's Exclusive Model Program, where you can convert your points into cash, and have copyright support from professionals.
Introduction of the Exclusive Model Program
Two Options for the Exclusive Model Program
Eligible creators are free to enter all of or part of your models into this program. Considering the different needs of our creators, we provide two types of Exclusive programs:
Exclusive Points
All points earned by participating models are labeled as Exclusive Points, including those converted from boosts. In addition to redeeming items in the points shop, Exclusive Points offer the unique advantage of being convertible into cash rewards. Each Exclusive Point is equivalent to 0.066 USD or other currencies of equal value.
How to Join this Program
Our Exclusive Model Program is quite simple and straightforward. Once you've obtained 100 total prints for your account, you are eligible to submit your models to the program.

Cash Withdrawal and Review
For every $100 worth of Exclusive Points earned, you can request a cash withdrawal. We will manually review all cash withdrawal requests to prevent fraud and make sure everything is legit. This process usually takes a week, probably longer in the beginning and for the first withdrawal of an account.
Copyright Support
Another issue creators expressed concerns about is copyright infringement, particularly when it occurs outside of MakerWorld. Individual creators are vulnerable to such infrigement because they do not have all the legal tools to back them up. To address this, we're introducing Copyright Support for Exclusive Models. The goal is to assist our creators in protecting their copyrights through legal means and to facilitate the removal of infringing models, both within and beyond our platform.
As this is a new service and we're continually refining our processes, we'll initially focus on creators with Exclusive Models that have earned significant popularity. Specifically, creators whose accounts have accumulated over 2,000 prints or those whose infringed Exclusive Models have received more than 500 prints can apply for up to 5 uses of this service per year.
By collaborating closely with creators and legal professionals, we aim to develop a system that effectively safeguards users' copyrights and interests.
